On Oct. 16, the Massapequa and South Side Girls Varsity Tennis teams dedicated their match as part of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The match featured all the players wearing pink shirts and playing with specially manufactured Wilson pink tennis balls (whose proceeds go towards breast cancer research). Even though Massapequa won the afternoon’s match, all the athletes were winners, as they showed solidarity in helping to raise awareness for a horrible disease that affects too many people (friends, family and loved ones) throughout our country.
