USTA Eastern Long Island and the United Way of Long Island are teaming up to support members of the U.S. military, and local businesses are urged to help. On Sunday, Dec. 4 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., the Region will be hosting a Corporate Tennis Challenge Fundraiser at the Port Washington Tennis Academy, located at 100 Harbor Road in Port Washington, N.Y., with all proceeds to provide rehabilitative and recreational tennis programs to returning military veterans and their families.

The event will pit corporation against corporation in a battle for the title of Long Island Corporate Tennis Champion, while their employees are helping improve the lives of U.S. military veterans. The Corporate Tennis Challenge will include a 90 min. tennis clinic and tri-level round robin (Levels 6.0, 7.5-8.0 and 8.5-9.0), with prizes awarded to the winning teams and players. In addition, all tennis players will enjoy a buffet dinner, t-shirt and special gifts.

The cost per team is $500, payable to the United Way of Long Island. All profits will go to the United Way of Long Island’s Military Family Assistance Project, which supports programs that serve Long Island military, reservist and National Guard personnel active in Operation Enduring Freedom and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom/New Dawn and their families.
