Spain's Rafael Nadal is still having trouble with a knee injury that prevented him from competing in the London Olympics, becoming the third ranked player to withdraw from next week's Cincinnati Masters. The last tournament the Spaniard has played was when he lost at Wimbledon in the second round. He recently also pulled out of the Toronto Masters which is occurring this week.
On his Facebook Page, Nadal posted:
"Hi all, another message to announce something that definitely doesn't make me happy but unfortunately I won't be competing at the tournament in Cincinnati next week. I am still not ready to play."
Nadal has fallen to third in the ATP World Tour rankings despite winning his seventh French Open title this year.
The next big tournament and final Grand Slam of the year, the U.S. Open, begins August 27, which has many wondering whether Nadal's knee will be in condition to play.
