Top-seeded Sachia Vickery beat second-seeded Alexandra Kiick 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 to win the USTA Girls 18s National Championship at Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. With the win, Vickery earned a wild card entry into the women’s singles main draw at the 2013 U.S. Open. The 18-year-old Vickery, from Miramar, Fla., is currently ranked 230th on the WTA Tour, and overcame a slow start to finish strong and close out Kiick.

”It feels unbelievable. It hasn’t sunken in that I’m going to be playing at the U.S. Open,” Vickery said. ”It’s been my dream since I started playing tennis. I can’t even put it into words how happy I am.”
