Petra Cetkovska, currently ranked 134th in the world, defeated the top-seeded Li Na, 7-6(2), 2-6, 6-4 on Thursday in Doha at the 2014 Qatar Total Open. It's the second time in her career that Cetkovska has defeated the WTA's third-ranked player. In 2012, she defeated Agnieszka Radwanska in Rome.

"Well, it's difficult to describe at the moment, because I've just sat down after coming from the court, and it's an amazing victory," Cetkovska said. "But I'm very, very happy with the performance today. Even though I was 3-1 down in the third set, I managed to make it and get through. So I'm really, really happy, of course. It's an amazing win for me."

Awaiting Cetkovska in the quarterfinals is Angelique Kerber, a winner over Klara Zakopalova, 7-6(2), 6-4.
