The NYIT Bears moved to 5-0 on the season on Tuesday, downing Molloy College 9-0 in an East Coast Conference (ECC) matchup.

In a matchup rescheduled from last week due to rain, it was the third doubles tandem of Melanie Benyadi & Rose LaCorte who set the tone for NYIT. They defeated Molloy’s Tiffany Nagasava & Krystal Bottone 8-0. Following that, Alexandra Borgenhoff & Paulina Velasquez rolled to an 8-1 victory at second doubles.

Benyadi wasn’t finished, as she moved up to first singles and notched a 6-1, 6-0 win over Tatiani Rajona of Molloy to lead the way in singles.

NYIT will take its undefeated record on the road against Le Moyne next. Molloy drops to 0-8 on the season, and will host Roberts Wesleyan in its next match.
