New York Institute of Technology’s (NYIT) fantastic season continued on Tuesday, as junior Alessia Rossetti of Switzerland was named the East Coast Conference’s (ECC) Player of the Year, and head coach Jason Pasion was named ECC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

Rossetti enjoyed a dominant 2015 campaign that saw her go 14-2 in singles play and 14-1 in doubles play, both in the No. 1 slot. In addition, Rossetti won the USTA/ITA East Region “A” Championship in both singles and doubles, and led the Bears to its fourth straight ECC team championship.

Pasion, in his second year at the helm of the NYIT program, is now 15-0 in his two seasons as head coach, including a 7-0 record this season en route to the program’s conference championship.

LIU Post’s Shanice Arthur, who played her high school tennis at nearby Jericho High School, was named the ECC Rookie of the Year.

Arthur put together a record of 8-2 in singles and 7-3 in doubles this fall. The freshman was 6-1 at first singles and was 4-0 in ECC matches.
