The Port Washington girls’ varsity tennis team recently held its annual Play with the Teachers doubles tournament to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

Each member of the varsity tennis team picked a teacher from Paul Schreiber High School to pair up with in the tournament. In addition, the girls went around the community to get donations, gift cards and other prizes for a raffle that they held during the tournament.

The event raised over $600 for a great cause, and was a fun way for the Port Washington tennis team to get their community involved.

“We raised a little over $600 and had a ton of fun doing it,” said Port Washington head coach Shane Helfner. “There is no better way to incorporate the school, tennis program and community for such a worthy cause.”

The winners of the tournament were senior Sydney Levy and guidance counselor Joseph Lorge.
