The fourth day at Wimbledon was kind to American men, as Sam Querrey, Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey advanced to the third round while John Isner and Donald Young made their way into the tournament’s second round.

Querrey ousted Thomaz Bellucci 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 to advance, winning 83 percent of the points on his first serve and breaking five times.

“We all try to do the best we can,” Querrey said of the American men. “That’s all we do. It doesn’t bug me. I don’t think it bugs John [Isner] or Steve [Johnson] or Jack [Sock] that we don’t have an American vying for a Slam four times a year. It would be great if we did but I don’t lose sleep over it.”

Up next for Querrey is world number one Novak Djokovic, who cruised to his 30th straight Grand Slam victory on Wednesday.

Johnson picked up an impressive win over France’s Jeremy Chardy on Thursday, winning 6-1, 7-6(3), 6-3 to book his spot in the third round. Up next for the 29th ranked American is Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, who took out 16th seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-3, 7-6(1), 3-6, 6-4 in his second round match on Wednesday.

Sock held off the Netherlands’ Robin Haase for a 6-1, 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-4 victory on Wednesday to earn his spot in the third round. His victory creates an intriguing matchup with sixth-seed Milos Raonic. The Canadian downed Italy’s Andreas Seppi 7-6(5), 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday.

Resuming play from Wednesday, Isner and Young both earned first round victories. Isner defeated Cyprus’ Marcos Baghdatis 7-6(2), 7-6(5), 6-3 while Young outlasted Leonardo Mayer 6-4, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.

Next up for Isner is Australia’s Matthew Barton and Young will take on 32nd seed Lucas Pouille.

Former champion Andy Murray cruised into the third round with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Yen-Hsun Lu. Murray squares off with Australian John Millman who upset 26th seeded Frenchman Benoit Paire 7-6(5), 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

Eighth-seed Dominic Thiem was upset by Jiri Vesley, who beat the Austrian 7-6(4), 7-6(5), 7-6(3).

Fifth-seed Kei Nishikori, seventh-seed Richard Gasquet, ninth-seed Marin Cilic and 19th seed Bernard Tomic were other notable winners on Thursday, as 25th seed Viktor Troicki and 30th seed Alexandr Dolgopolov were bounced.
