Blake and Sock Accepted for Australian Open Qualifying Draw

James Blake of Yonkers, N.Y. and Jack Sock of Lincoln, Neb. are among 13 American men accepted to the qualifying draw of the 2013 Australian Open, beginning Jan. 7 in Melbourne. Steve Johnson (Orange, Calif.), Denis Kudla (Arlington, Va.), Alex Kuznetsov (Tampa, Fla.), Wayne Odesnik (Weston, Fla.), Rajeev Ram (Denver), Tennys Sandgren (Gallatin, Tenn.), Tim Smyczek (Milwaukee), Ryan Sweeting (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Michael Yani (Durham, N.C.) and Donald Young (Chicago) join Blake and Sock on the Australian Open qualifying acceptance list.

Rhyne Williams (Knoxville, Tenn.) also was accepted into qualifying, but Williams claimed a wild card entry into the main draw by winning the USTA Australian Open Wild Card Playoff last weekend. Bradley Klahn (Poway, Calif.) and Daniel Kosakowski (Huntington Park, Calif.) are the second and third listed alternates, respectively.

Jesse Levine is listed as an American on the Australian Open qualifying acceptance list, but will be representing Canada in Melbourne.
