Syosset, Great Neck South Get Back to Winning Ways

The Syosset Braves and Great Neck South Rebels got back on the winning track on Wednesday afternoon, as Syosset edged Locust Valley 4-3 while Great Neck South defeated Oyster Bay 6-1.

The Braves were led by its fourth doubles duo of Lindsay Ogman and Sarah Wong, who won the clinching match to help Syosset win a tight Conference I matchup.

Friends Academy won its second straight match in a huge Conference I showdown, knocking off defending county champions Manhasset 5-2 to hand the Indians its first loss of the season.

In Conference II-A, junior Susie Fendt won a close second singles match 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 to lead Great Neck South to a 6-1 triumph over Oyster Bay.

West Hempstead knocked off Lawrence 6-1 in a Conference IV-A matchup, as Laura Eivazi beat Lisa Deryce 6-2, 6-4 at second singles to lead the way.
