The Syosset Braves defeated Jericho 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping all seven courts to push its winning streak to 42 straight.

It was the Syosset singles players that led the way on this day. Neel Rajesh won 6-0, 6-0 over Mike Wexler at first singles and Kabir Rajpal followed it up with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Varun Reddy at second singles.

Co-Captain Eli Grossman chipped in a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Oliver Lui at third singles as Syosset controlled the overall match throughout the afternoon.

“It’s a mix of older and younger kids this season so leadership is key,” Grossman said of the team’s success this season. “I like to make sure our team is always fired up and cheering for each other.”

Syosset is now 8-0 this season as it continues its push for a third straight county title.

“There’s always room for improvement but I’m happy with how everyone played and that our guys were able to pull out a victory,” said Syosset head coach Shai Fisher. “I just want to see them continue to improve each match.”

Playing up a conference, Hewlett remained undefeated with a 6-1 win over Plainview JFK. With the win Hewlett moves to 7-0 on the year.
