For the second consecutive year, the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Women's Tennis team was selected as an unanimous favorite in the East Coast Conference (ECC) Preseason Poll. NYITʹs Lena Dimmer was selected by the coaches as the Preseason Player of the Year.

The Queens College Women's Tennis team placed second in the ECC Preseason Poll.

NYIT, who won their fourth straight ECC title in 2015, earned all eight first place votes to top the poll. The Bears finished the 2015 season with an unblemished 7‐0 record in ECC play and have won 32 straight ECC matches including postseason play.

Queens College was the runner‐up in the poll with 54 points. The Knights were ECC runner‐up and advanced to the NCAA Tournament last year.

The University of the District of Columbia rounded out the top three in the ECC preseason rankings with 47 points.
