The Adelphi University women’s tennis team began its fall 2016 campaign with a 9-0 drubbing of American International College in a Northeast-10 (NE-10) road contest on Wednesday.

The Panthers got things started with a dominant performance on the doubles court, winning first doubles and third doubles 8-0 and second doubles by a score of 8-2 to sweep doubles.

The Adelphi dominance continued into the singles play, losing just eight total games in the six matches, anchored by Elizabeth Kallenberg’s 6-0, 6-1 defeat over Carleyah McLean at first singles.

Adelphi, the defending NE-10 champions, return to action this Saturday as it hosts Southern New Hampshire in the Panthers’ home opener.
