The New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) women’s tennis team’s domination continued over the weekend, as the Bears beat Queens College 5-0 for its fifth consecutive East Coast Conference (ECC) title.

The Bears got on the board with three straight wins in the doubles flights, led by Melanie Benyadi and Lena Dimmer’s 8-0 victory over Laure Ortega Jover and Araceli Bel at second doubles.

With three quick victories in doubles, NYIT needed just two singles victories to capture the conference title. Benyadi would contribute a singles win with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the fourth singles spot, and Paulina Vazquez won 6-1, 6-1 over Line Soersdahl Aasen at fifth singles to clinch the championship.

NYIT finishes the season at 12-0, and improves to 5-1 in ECC finals.
