A packed Eagle Beach was the scene for the third ranking tournament of the 2011 Beach tennis Aruba season. More than 80 teams battled in the sand and through different levels of competition, while spectators enjoyed the amazing ocean views, laidback vibes of the DJ, cold drinks and a BBQ.

SUN SAND AND SPORT! That's one of the Beach Tennis' mottos. On Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 4-5, the world's best beach tennis converged on Long Beach, N.Y. to compete in the $10,000 Beach Tennis National Championships. This tournament was the first National tournament held in the United States that was sanctioned by the new governing body of Beach Tennis USA, the ITF (International Tennis Federation).

Orisen Swett Marden once said, “All men who have achieved great things have been great dreamers.” When I was a young girl, I had a dream of becoming a successful tennis professional. I used to see myself walking up to the net after winning match point against Steffi Graff no less, and shaking her hand. I used to practice my “thank you” speeches in my bathroom mirror. I had it all planned out. I dreamt of becoming the most famous Jamaican athlete ever born. Unfortunately, Usain Bolt beat me to the punch, but that’s a different story.
