American Mardy Fish needed just 57 min. to advance to the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships with a 6-1, 6-1 straight sets win over Andreas Beck of Germany. So far in 2012, Fish lost in the second round of the Australian Open and then went on to lose to the 388th-ranked Albano Olivetti in the Marseille Tournament. He was also able to help the United States Davis Cup team defeat Switzerland 5-0.

Fish broke back twice in the first set to lead out 4-0, and went on to break three more times before the match concluded.
