The USTA and U.S. Fed Cup Captain Mary Joe Fernandez announced today that her core group of Bethanie Mattek-Sands, Melanie Oudin, and former world number one doubles player Liezel Huber will be joined by 2010 US Open and Wimbledon doubles champion Vania King in representing the U.S. against Belgium in the 2011 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Quarterfinal in Antwerp, Belgium, Feb. 5-6.

Sam Stosur, the woman who ousted Serena Williams and Justine Henin from the 2010 French Open, made it to the finals with a surprisingly easy straight set upset win over Jelena Jankovic, 6-1, 6-2. Stosur hardly lost focus at any point against Jankovic and seemed in complete control for the entire match. Stosur will now battle 17th-seeded Francesca Schiavone for the trophy.

On day two of the 2010 French Open, the match of the day was between Andy Murray and hometown favorite, Frenchman Richard Gasquet. Gasquet who at times can be inconsistent certainly brought his "A" game to Roland Garros and gave the number four seed all he could handle.

The best of five matchup between the United States and Russia started with Melane Oudin defeating Alla Kudryavtseva 6-3 6-3 to give the United States a 1-0 match lead. Elena Dementieva defeated Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the second match to even the series at 1-1. In Sunday's reverse singles Dementieva defeated Oudin 7-6 0-6 6-3 to put the Russians ahead but Mattek-Sands defeated Kudryavtseva 6-4 2-6 6-3 in a tough match to even things up at 2-2.

As expected, the competitors came through and delivered two weeks worth of high intensity drama, upsets, Cinderella stories, hard-fought comebacks, introduced us to new stars in the making, and in the end, two new champions were crowned.
