The USTA and U.S. Davis Cup Captain Jim Courier have announced that new top-ranked American and world number 20 Sam Querrey, number 23 John Isner, and the world’s top doubles team of Bob & Mike Bryan will represent the U.S. in the 2013 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Quarterfinal tie against Serbia, April 5-7. The tie will be played on an indoor hard court at the Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho.

Westhampton Beach Tennis will be again offering partial and full scholarships to both adults and juniors at its tennis academy. These scholarships are for beginning tennis players who have made contributions to their community. The scholarships are in the names of two of owner Peter Kaplan's roommates at Cornell University.

The 2013 National Family Tennis Championships offers thousands of amateur players all across America the opportunity to team up with a family member to earn the right to play for a national title in New York City from August 22-26, 2013. Tennis facilities interested in being one of the 300 host sites have until February 28 to sign-up.

Tennis Channel will bring viewers tournament coverage from the 2013 Hyundai Hopman Cup beginning Tuesday, Jan. 1, at 3:30 p.m. ET. The network's telecast will include U.S. competitions and the championship final of the annual international mixed-doubles tournament. All Hopman Cup matches, which feature teams consisting of one man and one woman, will take place at the Perth Arena in Australia, Dec. 29-Jan. 5.

In 2011, the Girls High School Tennis Season ended on a sour note as Syosset High School defeated Half Hollow Hills East for the Long Island Championship via a coaches forfeit by HHHE over a lineup dispute. While this was deeply concerning on many levels, it shouldn't overshadow what was one of the best seasons on-court by Long Island high school girls in recent memory.
