The 2011 U.S. Open officially kicked off on Monday, Aug. 29 with great weather and even greater matches. The men’s side of the draw saw Germany's Tommy Haas defeat Jonathan Dasnieres De Veigy of France in four sets, 6-3, 6-4, 6-7, 6-1.

This weekend at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington, D.C. we saw the unexpected happen. By that, I mean unseeded Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic capturing the title, as he faced the number one seed, Gael Monfils of France, who was obviously favored going into the match.

The anticipation was high at the 2011 French Open for the third round clash between the number two seed Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro, 2009 U.S. champion. With little daylight left, the match was suspended until Saturday with the score tied at a set apiece.

On day two of the 2010 French Open, the match of the day was between Andy Murray and hometown favorite, Frenchman Richard Gasquet. Gasquet who at times can be inconsistent certainly brought his "A" game to Roland Garros and gave the number four seed all he could handle.
