The 2014 Long Island girls high school season continued on Wednesday, as some of the best teams in Nassau County took to the courts in hopes of remaining undefeated. Unfortunately for Roslyn, its bid at a perfect season was spoiled by the Manhasset Indians, who went on the road to defeat the Bulldogs 5-2 in a huge Conference I showdown.

The high school girls’ tennis season got underway in Nassau County on Monday as some schools took to the courts for the start of the fall season. It was good to be a road team yesterday as a number of squads picked up victories away from home.

Suffolk County High School players and coaches had their Annual Awards Dinner at Villa Lombardi's in Holbrook, N.Y. on May 28. The Awards Dinner was attended by more than 300 players and families, and more than 200 awards for regular season and post-season accomplishments were presented over the course of the evening.

Two familiar foes met in the Nassau County Boy's High School Tennis Finals on Monday afternoon at Garden City High School. The Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks and the Syosset Braves, who were both undefeated this season, met to decide who would be County champion and in the end, Cold Spring Harbor edged Syosset for the 4-3 victory.

The Plainedge Red Devils completed a perfect 14-0 season in 2014 yesterday, defeating New Hyde Park 4-3 to capture its first Conference IV Championship since 2006. The two top teams in the conference battled throughout the match, with the deciding victory coming at first singles.

Great Neck South moved to .500 on the season following a convincing 7-0 win over Valley Stream Central in Conference I-A play on Thursday afternoon. The Rebels were led by Landon Phillips, who defeated Adam Birch of the Eagles in third singles in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Great Neck South now looks to build on this win as it has Wheatley and undefeated Cold Spring Harbor remaining on the schedule.
