Great Britain's Andy Murray has been forced to withdraw from the ATP World Tour Finals in London with a strained groin. He initially suffered the injury during a practice late last week and re-aggravated it in his straight sets loss to Spain's Devid Ferrer on Monday.

The injuries continue to mount as the year winds down at the Swiss Indoors event in Switzerland, as the number two seed, Great Britain's Andy Murray and the number six seed, Serbian Janko Tipsarevic, have left the event due to injury.

In Monday action at the 2011 U.S. Open, a packed house in Louis Armstrong Stadium saw top-seeded Serbian Novak Djokovic survive an epic tie-breaker and advance in straight sets to the quarterfinals after defeating the number 22 seed, Ukranian Alexandr Dolgopolov, 7-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Day Six of the 2011 U.S. Open featured a number of seeded players advancing to next week's Final Round of 16. Both the men's and women's top seeds advanced as Serbian Novak Djokovic defeated Russian Nikolay Davydenko, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, and on the women's side, top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark defeated Vania King of the United States, 6-2, 6-4.
