Matches have resumed after rain had cancelled the last two days of play at the 2011 U.S. Open, with players having a lot to make up in very little time. As Jim Curley, director of the U.S. Open stated yesterday, "Right now, it’s our intention to finish the tournament on time..."

Rain yesterday at the 2011 U.S. Open again washed out action, creating some interesting scenarios for Thursday's action at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center as Day 11 action begins. All 20 players are still alive in the singles draws, particularly on the men’s side, where the four fourth-round matches will all hit the court at 11:00 a.m.

The USTA has announced that Jim Courier has been named U.S. Davis Cup Captain. Courier signed a multi-year agreement and succeeds Patrick McEnroe, who ended his 10-year tenure as U.S. Davis Cup Captain in September.

The following is taken from Bob and Mike Bryan's post-match press conference on Friday, Sept. 10th during the 2010 U.S Open. The top-seeded men's doubles team of Bob & Mike Bryan were victorious over the 16th-seeded team of Rohan Bopanna from India & Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan, 7-6(5), 7-6(4) to capture the 2010 U.S. Open Men's Doubles Championship.

The USTA and Tennis Channel have announced that the network will present live broadcasts of the finals of the 2010 U.S. Open National Playoffs–Men’s and Women’s Championships. The men’s and women’s winners of the U.S. Open National Playoffs each receive a wild card entry into the 2010 U.S. Open qualifying draw.
