The USTA announced that the U.S. Junior Fed Cup team of Taylor Townsend (Stockbridge, Ga.), Louisa Chirico (Harrison, N.Y.) and Gabrielle Andrews (Pomona, Calif.) captured the championship at the Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Final on Sunday in Barcelona, Spain, defeating Russia, 3-0.

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has posted the names of the players who will be participating in their Junior Fed Cup and Junior Davis Cup 16-and-Under competitions, Sept. 25-30 in Barcelona, Spain. This is the first year the tournament has been held in Spain, after four years in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Court 14 was the scene this morning at Roland Garros as Noah Rubin of Long Island took to the court for the third round of the 2012 Boys French Open Junior Singles Championships. The weather outside was windy, cold and drizzling at times, and the16-year-old Noah came in as the underdog against 18-year-old and third-seeded Liam Brody of Great Britain.

Long Island's Noah Rubin defeated Jorge Brian Panta Herreros of Peru, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the first round of the 2012 French Open Juniors on Sunday. He will now face Stefano Napolitano of Italy, the 15th seed, in the second round. Noah traveled to Roland Garros with his coach, Lawrence Kleger of Sportime, and his father/coach Eric Rubin.

The USTA has announced the eight girls and seven boys who have been accepted into the main draw and the qualifying draw at the 2012 Roland Garros Junior French Championships. The main draw will be played June 3-10 at Roland Garros in Paris; qualifying will be played May 31-June 1. Among the group is Rockville Centre, N.Y.'s Noah Rubin. Rubin is ranked a career-high 17th and reached the semifinals at both the USTA International Spring Championships and the Easter Bowl.

The 2012 Long Island Winter Junior Team Tennis season ended after two exciting weekends of competition. On April 28th, Point Set Racquet Club’s (Oceanside, N.Y.) 14 & Under intermediate team captained by David Nisenson, prevailed in the round robin to be crowned champions.

The USTA has announced that the U.S. Junior Fed Cup and U.S. Junior Davis Cup (16-and-under) teams and both the boys’ and girls’ World Junior Tennis teams (14-and-under) won the North/Central America & Caribbean Regional Championships this weekend to qualify for the 2012 World Finals. The Regional Championships were held in Merida, Mexico. All four teams went an undefeated 3-0 en route to winning their regional titles.
