Sue Hunt has been named the USTA’s Chief Marketing Officer, it was announced today by Gordon Smith, USTA Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. Hunt will report to Kurt Kamperman, the Association’s Chief Executive, Community Tennis.

Pete Sampras, a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, will serve as the first spokesman for the 2011 Tennis Night In America, a joint promotional effort between the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and StarGames Inc.

The USTA has announced today that it has passed new rules governing competition for 10-and-under tennis tournaments. The new rules require that 10-and-under tournaments be played using slower-moving and lower-bouncing balls, on smaller courts and utilizing shorter, lighter racquets.

The USTA has announced that it will feature a series of Kids Tennis initiatives at the 2010 U.S. Open, including a QuickStart Tennis demonstration in Arthur Ashe Stadium and a full day of QuickStart Tennis activities during Labor Day weekend on Saturday, Sept. 4.
