The world’s top tennis professionals will compete in World TeamTennis (WTT) action once again this July at the state-of-the-art Sportime at Randall’s Island Tennis Center, where the New York Sportimes will play their second season at their new home in New York City. New York will open their home schedule against the defending WTT Champion, the Washington Kastles, on Monday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m.

The 2010 World TeamTennis Pro League season will be highlighted by head-to-head matches between five former and current world number one-ranked players–Martina Hingis, Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters, Lindsay Davenport and current world number one Serena Williams–during the three-week season, which starts July 5. League officials have released the 73-match season schedule for the 10 WTT franchises.

In the 34th season of Advanta World Team Tennis Pro League (WTT), the New York Sportimes treated New York tennis fans to a great season of tennis action and a very entertaining prelude to the upcoming U.S. Open. This season was the first year since 1978 that New York City has been home to a WTT franchise. The Sportimes were led by New York City tennis legend John McEnroe, and played at the spanking new, $16 million Sportime Tennis Center on Randall’s Island.
