American Venus Williams will return to action on the WTA Tour in March after receiving a wild card to compete in her first tournament since her withdrawal in August with an autoimmune disease, making her return at the Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne, Fla.

Venus Williams served in her first match in five months alongside Liezel Huber in the United States Fed Cup match against Belarus. Williams was off to a good start that improved as the match went on with the duo defeating Anastasiya Yakimova & Liezel Huber in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. "It was perfect conditions," said Williams.
