Sportimes Stadium at Randall’s Island was bubbling with excitement last night as the New York Sportimes took on the Washington Kastles in World TeamTennis action to close out the 2011 WTT season. Despite impressive play from the Sportimes team, the Kastles proved too much to handle as they clinched the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a 23-15 win.

The USTA has announced that the U.S. Open Qualifying Tournament will be held Aug. 24-27 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the site of the 2010 U.S. Open. The tournament, which offers $1 million in prize money, is free and open to the public with play beginning daily at 11:00 a.m.
