Former world number ones, Davis Cup standouts and International Tennis Hall of Famers John McEnroe and Jim Courier will battle it out on the Sportime Stadium hard court on Monday, July 22, as the NY Sportimes take on the Texas Wild in a Mylan World TeamTennis matchup. The annual night benefiting the Johnny Mac Tennis Project (JMTP) will also feature fellow Hall of Famer and Mylan WTT Co-Founder Billie Jean King in celebration of the 40th anniversary year of her historic matchup with Bobby Riggs in the famed "Battle of the Sexes."

German standout Anna-Lena Groenefeld, a former top-15 singles player currently ranked at 19th in the world in doubles, has been selected by the NY Sportimes in the Mylan WTT Roster Draft in Indian Wells, Calif. Groenefeld, who competed for the Orange County Breakers in 2012, will be joined by her doubles partner, Kveta Peschke, formerly number one in doubles and now ranked 17th.

The New York Sportimes took the court for their final home match of the season Wednesday night, July 25, hosting the undefeated Washington Kastles at Randall’s Island where legends John McEnroe and Martina Hingis participated in the night’s events. With close to a full crowd that came out to support the home team one last time, there was a nice energy inside the stadium.

Sportimes Stadium at Randall’s Island was bubbling with excitement last night as the New York Sportimes took on the Washington Kastles in World TeamTennis action to close out the 2011 WTT season. Despite impressive play from the Sportimes team, the Kastles proved too much to handle as they clinched the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a 23-15 win.
