The USTA has announced it will host its annual open casting call on Tuesday, June 15 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City to select children to perform at the 2010 U.S. Open, Aug. 30-Sept. 12, 2010. Winners will perform “America the Beautiful” live at Arthur Ashe Stadium during night sessions of this year’s U.S. Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Sam Stosur, the woman who ousted Serena Williams and Justine Henin from the 2010 French Open, made it to the finals with a surprisingly easy straight set upset win over Jelena Jankovic, 6-1, 6-2. Stosur hardly lost focus at any point against Jankovic and seemed in complete control for the entire match. Stosur will now battle 17th-seeded Francesca Schiavone for the trophy.

The world’s top tennis professionals will compete in World TeamTennis (WTT) action once again this July at the state-of-the-art Sportime at Randall’s Island Tennis Center, where the New York Sportimes will play their second season at their new home in New York City. New York will open their home schedule against the defending WTT Champion, the Washington Kastles, on Monday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m.

Tennis Channel has extended its French Open relationship with tennis icon John McEnroe. The man with one of the best-known faces in televised tennis today will continue his lead analyst’s role during the network’s annual coverage of the event (also known as Roland Garros) through 2013.

The Tennis Channel will provide exclusive live coverage of the U.S. Fed Cup semifinal against Russia in Birmingham, Ala., this weekend, with telecasts Saturday, April 24, and Sunday, April 25. The competition between the 2009 Fed Cup runner-up Americans and Russia will consist of two singles matches on Saturday, followed by two singles matches and the doubles match Sunday. Tennis Channel will carry all matches live, beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET each day, followed by same-day encore coverage each evening.
