The USTA has announced that it will host its annual open casting call on Tuesday, June 19 at Harlem’s World Famous Apollo Theater in New York City to select children to perform at the 2012 U.S. Open, set for Aug. 27-Sept. 9. Winners will perform “America the Beautiful” live at Arthur Ashe Stadium during night sessions of this year’s U.S. Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Long Island’s own John McEnroe is a former world number one-ranked player. He has won seven Grand Slam titles, three at Wimbledon and four at the U.S. Open, nine Grand Slam men's doubles titles and one Grand Slam mixed-doubles titles. This past season, John played for the New York Sportimes during the 2009 WTT season.
