Syracuse University Women's Tennis team has defeated the Yale Bulldogs to advance to 39th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. The Orange has defeated the highest-ranked opponent in the program history, 4-3, against the Bulldogs, and has jumped up to the school's highest ranking to date.
The Carefree 2.5 USTA team [SHIMON] has advanced all the way to the finals at the Sectionals held in Syracuse, N.Y. This was my first experience playing on a winning USTA team, so my immersion was quick, intense and passionate.

On Aug. 13-15, a USTA team of women from Long Island, all members of the Carefree Racquet Club in North Merrick, N.Y., went undefeated in the state championship in Syracuse, N.Y.
The 2010 Long Island Winter JTT season ended with two exciting weekends of playoffs. The 18-and-Under and 14-and-Under intermediate divisions were hosted at Robbie Wagner Tournament Training in Glen Cove on April 24 and May 2, and the 12-and-Under division was held at Eisenhower Park on April 24.
Congratulations to the Long Island 14's Junior Team Tennis Long Island on winning the Junior Team tennis Regional Championship. The champs are headed to Syracuse for Sectionals, June 12-13 and we wish them the best of luck along the way!

The little engine that could, just did! The 4.0 Carefree tennis team captained by Adam Kolenberg won the National Championships in Las Vegas by defeating the southern team from Arkansas by a score of 4-1 in the national finals. The Carefree team, playing out of the Merrick, N.Y. Carefree Racquet Club, capped an unbelievable season that saw them win the Long Island regular season and then go 12-0 in the post season, sweeping the Sectionals in Syracuse, N.Y. and the Nationals in Las Vegas.
League tennis continues to grow on Long Island, with more than 4,000 players on men’s and women’s adult teams, men’s and women’s Master’s (over 50) and Grand Master (over 60) teams, as well as mixed-doubles teams.
