All eyes were on the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon April 28, site of the First Annual New York Tennis Expo. As cars lined the streets and the parking lots filled up, shuttle buses escorted patrons inside the National Tennis Center as droves of people came over from the trains/subway and it looked like the U.S. Open was in town.

The USTA has announced that the U.S. Open National Playoffs will return for a fourth year to expand the footprint of the U.S. Open to cities nationwide by providing the opportunity for all players 14 years of age and older to earn a berth into the U.S. Open. For the USTA Eastern Section, playoffs are scheduled for Sunday-Saturday, June 9-15 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
