Unfortunately, day one of the 125th Wimbledon Championships was shortened due to rain, forcing half of the scheduled day one matches to day two. The only men’s match that could finish after the rains had come was Andy Murray of Britian and Daniel Gimeno-Traver of Spain, playing under the roof on Centre Court.

This year at Wimbledon, each singles champion will receive a total of $1.8 million in prize money. All-England Club Chief Executive Ian Ritchie also announced that the total prize fund for the 125th Wimbledon Championships will increase to $23.8 million. In 2010, prize money for the singles champions was $1.54 million each.
