Last night in World TeamTennis action, the Boston Lobsters defeated the Newport Beach Breakers 22-14, and with the win, Boston advanced to the 2011 WTT playoffs, eliminating the New York Sportimes with their victory.

Sportimes Stadium at Randall’s Island was bubbling with excitement last night as the New York Sportimes took on the Washington Kastles in World TeamTennis action to close out the 2011 WTT season. Despite impressive play from the Sportimes team, the Kastles proved too much to handle as they clinched the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a 23-15 win.

The two New York based teams in the WTT Pro League presented by GEICO are consolidating their efforts for the 2011 season, League officials have announced.
