The USTA has announced that it has entered into a comprehensive media partnership with ESPN for the television and digital presentation of the U.S. Open and the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series. The 11-year agreement will begin in 2015 and extend through the 2025 US Open and provide professional tennis with more than 200 hours of live coverage each summer. Current domestic television agreements for the US Open conclude following the 2014 U.S. Open.

The United States Tennis Association has announced it has reached an agreement to return to New York City a portion of its currently leased Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (NTC) land in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in exchange for the parkland it proposes to add as part of its improvement plan for the NTC. The USTA will surrender 1.56 acres of parkland in return for 0.68 acres of parkland, the latter being mostly an existing asphalt road.

The USTA has announced the return of its SmashZone Mobile Tour which will hit the road for a 22-city tour to introduce youth tennis to kids and parents across the country. SmashZone began as the premier fan interactive attraction at the US Open before being showcased across the country.

The USTA has announced that the U.S. Open National Playoffs will return for a fourth year to expand the footprint of the U.S. Open to cities nationwide by providing the opportunity for all players 14 years of age and older to earn a berth into the U.S. Open. The USTA Eastern Long Island Region has announced that grant money for 2013 is available to member organizations who will support and participate in the Region’s mission to promote and develop the growth of tennis on Long Island. Additional grants are available to member through the USTA’s National Disaster Relief Program, which provides money to help rebuild facilities and replace equipment lost or damaged in Hurricane Sandy.
