Sophomore Barbie Quagliardi could not have asked for a better start to her Adelphi career.

Quagliardi, who transferred from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week.

She paired with Nicole Kielan, a junior, to win the 2019 ITA Division II East Region Women’s Doubles Championship last week, and helped her Panthers win its first two matches of the season over Saint Michael’s and Franklin Pierce.

In those two matches, Quagliardi won both of her matches in the first singles spot, beating Aby Ramsay of Saint Michael’s 6-2, 6-0, and Franklin Pierce’s Himani Mor 6-0, 6-3.

Adelphi’s next match will be at home on Thursday as it hosts Concordia College.
