A right knee injury has forced Jared Donaldson out of the main draw of the 2018 U.S. Open.

According to the USTA, since Donaldson withdrew after the completion of the singles draw, his line of the draw will be replaced by a qualifier or a lucky loser. A qualifier/lucky loser will be drawn for that line and the other 17 qualifier/lucky loser lines at the conclusion of the qualifying tournament.

Donaldson was set to face the 25th-seeded Milos Raonic of Canada in opening round action. He is currently ranked 91st in the Men’s Singles Rankings, with a 14-19 record to date on the 2018 season.

His biggest run of 2018 was earlier this March at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentado por HSBC in Acapulco when he advanced to the semifinals where he fell to Kevin Anderson, 3-6, 6-4, 3-6.
