Tennis Channel will unveil its second season of tennis health-and-nutrition series Fit to Hit Sunday, April 3, at 7 p.m. ET. The half-hour instructional program will again be hosted by Danielle Dotzenrod, and look at the world of sports diet and fitness from a tennis player’s perspective. Tailored for both amateur and professional tennis players, new episodes of Fit to Hit will appear on Sunday nights each week this spring. A complete schedule is available at www.tennischannel.com.

Introduced in late 2009 in conjunction with Pacific Rock Productions, Fit to Hit presents viewers with the latest trends and training techniques from elite instructors and sports-medicine professionals. The series offers guidance on tennis science and equipment, aerobic thresholds and endurance, injury prevention, wellness, mental strategies, and best nutritional practices, in addition to an assortment of habits and routines that viewers can use to improve their tennis experiences. Each episode is broken into four segments to showcase a variety of tips, drills, strategies and non-traditional workouts that help tennis players of all levels improve their games.

"The response we received during the first season of Fit to Hit was overwhelming," said Laura Hockridge, vice president of original programming for Tennis Channel. "Most Tennis Channel viewers play recreationally and Danielle resonates with them because, like so many in our audience, she’s not a former academic or professional tennis player. She took up the game in her twenties and we see how much it’s turned into a passion for her as she learns and teaches us more about the things anyone can do to enjoy tennis to the fullest."

Dotzenrod had never picked up a tennis racquet until a few years ago. The sport has subsequently become a major component of her life, with several matches on her schedule each week. Fit to Hit follows her as she discovers new ways to improve her on-court abilities and fitness level, sharing her discoveries with like-minded and equally avid tennis viewers. Since hosting the first season of Fit to Hit, Dotzenrod has appeared in the network’s fan guides prior to major tournaments like Wimbledon and the US Open, feature segments during the French Open and a series of holiday shorts.

New in 2011, each episode of Fit to Hit will feature trivia and tips from Health magazine’s editorial staff and experts. The second season will highlight the following (all premieres at 7 p.m. ET):
