Robbie Wagner’s Tournament Training Center Hosts College Recruiting Seminar

May 2, 2011 | By Gary Simeone

On Sunday, May 1, Robbie Wagner’s Tournament Training Center in Glenwood Landing, N.Y. played host to Scholarship For Athletes (SFA) Chief Executive Officer Ross Greenstein to discuss the ins and outs of the college tennis recruiting process to approximately 70 parents and kids.

"I help connect the kids with the type of schools that fit their talent" said Greenstein, whose company, SFA, is based in San Diego, Calif. "I work with them on the resume process and recruiting trips and also play an intermediary role between the coaches and players."

SFA charges a flat fee of $2,000 for high school sophomores and $3,000 for juniors.

"He really knows what he’s doing," said Robbie Wagner. "He’s probably the best in the business at what he does. He helps the kids along in the recruiting process and finds them the best school and coach that fits their personality and profile."

Sandra Ferguson, whose daughter Jennifer plays tennis at Sacred Heart Academy, said Greenstein was extremely informative about the process.

"It is a complicated process, looking at schools and deciding which one is right for her," said Ferguson. "He gave us a lot of good information about areas I had very little knowledge about. We will definitely consider using his company to guide her in her decision."

Wagner said he will invite Greenstein back to speak in September, but that is only the tip of the iceberg.

"We are hoping to have informative lectures like this once every month at Glenwood Landing," said Wagner.
