Devlin-Ann Ammendola of Massapequa, N.Y., finished off a successful high school career playing for Farmingdale High School last fall. This fall, she enrolled and starting playing tennis for Bryant College. As a freshman, Ammendola had not been overwhelmed and has played very well, and this month, she was recognized for her stellar play by being named the NEC Rookie of the Month.

Over the past month, Ammendola won the number four singles flight title and the number three doubles flight crown along with teammate, May Vickers, at the New England Championships. She dropped no more than three games in a set on the way to claiming her first-ever singles title with wins over Merrimack, Providence and ultimately, UConn, in the championship final. Ammendola went unbeaten in singles (5-0) and doubles (5-0) in October and is 10-1 in singles play on the year.
