The most misunderstood principle of sports performance is nutrition. Even if you know what to do, doing it is near impossible with busy schedules and the demands of everyday life. Nowadays, athletes and parents need simple solutions to maximize energy, speed up recovery, and improve long-term health. Last night at Sports and Fitness Performance in Islip, N.Y., Coach Frank Dolan outlined a simple plan for families to change their nutritional habits for maximal performance and improved health.

Topics discussed included: Reaching optimal body composition, ways in which to increase energy, body fat loss, muscle and weight gain, dietary supplements, pre- and post-workout nutrition, and pre- and post- match and game nutrition.

This workshop was geared toward athletes and parents with a busy schedule looking to gain nutritional knowledge, as well as planning techniques to save time. It was also for coaches looking to provide their players with nutritional guidelines to maximize performance and it was free to all local athletes, parents, coaches and clients.
