Michele Lehat is a sophomore from Great Neck North, playing first singles this past season for Great Neck North High School. Playing the number one spot means each match you will draw the opposing team's top player and you must be up for the task. Michele had a very respectable personal record, losing only to two top players this season.

Her goal for the season was to represent Great Neck North in singles at the Nassau County Individual Championships, but as a true team player, Michele played doubles as the school didn't have enough spots for both singles and doubles representatives.

Michele trains at throughout the year at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in Bethpage. Balancing her busy training schedule and playing USTA tournaments with school work and playing for the varsity team was not easy, but Michele was truly committed to her team and demonstrated great leadership and team spirit. She performed well both on and off the court and has worked with great success at being a strong student athlete. She will continue to train year-round and looks forward to even greater success in her junior year.
