The Half Hollow Hills East High School Boys Tennis team remained undefeated in the 2013 season, knocking off rival Half Hollow Hills West 5-2 to capture their fourth consecutive Suffolk County Tennis Championship. These were the top seeds from Suffolk County, but Hills East came in as the clear favorites and Hills West was unable to pull off the upset. The match that clinched the championship for Hills East was first singles, where Junior Zain Ali, 2013 Suffolk County Singles Champion, defeated Aziz Rashidzada in straight sets 7-5, 6-2 to secure the title. Hills East has now won an amazing 79 straight matches against Suffolk County opponents.

The thorn in the side of Hills East the past few seasons has been Cold Spring Harbor. Last season, Cold Spring Harbor defeated Hills East and won their fifth straight Long Island Championship. Cold Spring Harbor won the Nassau County Boys title last week and will face Hills East again for the 2013 LI Championship next week in a meeting of two undefeated squads at Garden City High School.
