Queens College to Host August Tennis Outing & Social Event

The Queens College Tennis Outing & Social event will be held Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Queens College Tennis Courts. There is an early registration fee of $60 on and before Aug. 12th and $75 after Aug. 12. All proceeds will benefit the Queens College Men’s & Women’s Tennis programs. Tennis participants can come at any time and have the option of participating in one or all of the scheduled tennis activities. There will be open time for tennis play from 9:00 a.m.-noon if participants choose not to take a lesson. Players will be grouped by ability for the round-robin tournament.

8:30 a.m.-Noon Tennis Registration
9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Forehand Lesson
10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Backhand Lesson
11:00 a.m.-Noon Volley Lesson
Noon-1:00 p.m. Lunch and Raffle Drawing
1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Round-Robin Tournament With Prizes

Lessons will be given by Wayne Martin, Queens College Men’s Tennis Coach; Alan Nagel, Queens College Women’s Tennis Coach; Somadi Druker, Queens College Women’s Tennis Assistant Coach; Erika Goldsmith, former nationally-ranked number one Queens College Women’s Tennis Team member; and Younes Hidass, number one singles player on the Queens College Men’s Tennis Team.

The Queens College Women’s and Men’s Tennis Teams will participate in Round Robin Tournament, but are not eligible for prizes.
