The USTA is hosting a playoff this week to award a men’s and a women’s singles main-draw wild card to the 2010 French Open. The men’s and women’s wild-card tournaments are taking place this week on the clay courts of the Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla., April 27-29. The USTA and the French Tennis Federation have a reciprocal agreement in which wild-card entries into the main draw at the 2010 French Open and 2010 US Open are exchanged.

The tournament started yesterday with eight men and eight women competing for the Wild Cards that will go to the winner of each draw.

Last year, John Isner and Lauren Embree won main-draw wild cards into the 2009 French Open at the Boca West Country Club, while Harrison and Vandeweghe won similar events last December to earn main-draw wild cards into the 2010 Australian Open.
