The Hampton Bays Baymen Boys Varsity Tennis team managed to overcome many obstacles in winning their first match of the season on Wednesday. Playing without one of their top players against a tough Eastport/South Manor Sharks team was difficult enough, but adding in the frigid temperatures made it that much more difficult. New Baymen Coach Jon Caico rallied the troops though and Hampton Bays was victorious 4-3.

Singles players Caleb Reed, Jaun Buritica and Wayne Stanton won their singles matches to set the tone for Hampton Bays. Needing one doubles win to secure the victory, they got the win from third doubles players Samet Karadeniz and his partner, Jack Courtier. The team was excited by their win and is looking forward to their next match against Rocky Point this afternoon.
