Girls High School Recap: Roslyn and Great Neck South Continue Their Winning Ways

In a Conference I-A showdown on Friday, the Roslyn Bulldogs rebounded nicely from its loss to Manhasset as it upended Port Washington 5-2. Roslyn was led by the Singer Sisters, Levi and Marlee, who each took care of business in their respective doubles matches. Lexi Singer paired up with Rachel Mintz at first doubles to knock off Sydney Levy & Maddie Lane 7-6(2), 6-2, while Marlee Singer teamed with Carly Berman to cruise past Blake Dolin & Sophie Lampl 6-3, 6-4 at fourth doubles.

The win moves Roslyn to 5-1 on the season as it travels to play Oceanside Monday. Port Washington drops its second straight match to fall to 4-2 ahead of its road contest versus Jericho on Monday afternoon.

Great Neck South improved to 6-0 on the season, knocking off Herricks 6-1 on Friday afternoon in Conference II-A action. The team of Amanda Zeitlin & Lily Kimmel led the way for the Rebels with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at third doubles. Great Neck South will take its undefeated record on the road to Wheatley on Monday, while Herricks, who dropped to 2-2 on the season, will host North Shore.

In Conference III-A, Plainedge edged Mepham 4-3. Michelle Caronovale notched the key victory at first singles, defeating Aly Davila 6-2, 6-1 to secure the win for the Red Devils who move to 3-2. Plainedge will travel to Calhoun on Monday afternoon, while Mepham takes on Baldwin.
