The Manhasset Indians took its six-match winning streak into a home contest with Conference I foe Port Washington on Wednesday. Manhasset’s last and only loss on the season came at the hands of Port Washington back in mid-September, as the Indians looked to exact some revenge.

Manhasset got the upper hand on Wednesday, knocking off Port Washington 5-2 to move to 10-1 on the season. Amanda Foo beat Sarah Seaman 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in first singles to pace Manhasset who stayed even with Roslyn at the top of the Conference I standings.

A huge matchup waits Friday, when Manhasset welcomes Roslyn in what will be one of the best matches in Nassau County this season. Port Washington falls to 7-4 and will host Syosset next.

Manhasset’s win was significant because it was able to keep pace with Roslyn, who won its sixth straight match on Wednesday to improve to 10-1. The Bulldogs edged Locust Valley 4-3 behind its strong doubles play. Ashley Messinger & Izzy Glick won 6-3, 6-4 in their second doubles match to lead Roslyn. Locust Valley will play Oceanside at home on Friday.

In Conference II-A, the Rebels of Great Neck South continued its quest for a perfect season with a 6-1 win over Oyster Bay. Marisa Menist knocked off Jessica Lane 6-4, 6-2 to pace Great Neck South as it improves to 10-0 on the year. It will take that undefeated record into a huge road match versus second-place North Shore on Friday. North Shore has won its last six matches and sits just below the Rebels in the Conference II-A standings.
