2010 Adult League season underway
  | By Long Island Tennis Magazine Staff

The 2010 USTA Adult League Summer Season kicked off Thursday night, May 6 with the USTA Captains Meeting at Crest Hollow Country Club.  There were 267 men's and women's captains from the Eastern/Long Island Region on hand to receive their schedules for the upcoming season, as well as learn of any rule changes since the 2009 season. There was plenty of food and drinks and the captains were able to socialize before the competitive season begins.

The evening began with everyone having a chance to have dinner and drinks. After everyone settled in, Kathy Miller (USTA Eastern/Long Island Adult League Chairperson) spoke to the room, addressed all questions and wished everyone luck in the new season. Darcy Cobb (Manager, Adult Leagues at USTA Eastern) then welcomed the captains and offered her insights on the upcoming season, including addressing the rating system.

In the end, the captains left armed with what they need to know for the upcoming season and it should be another great one on Long Island! The entire evening was put together by Kathy Miller, who deserves a tremendous amount of credit for all she does in organizing and maintaining these leagues.

Long Island Tennis Magazine was on hand to take photos and distribute magazines to the captains. For more coverage of the Adult League season, check with LongIslandTennisMagazine.com throughout the season as well our July/August 2010 edition.
