Weekend High School Recap: Syosset Beats Roslyn to Remain Undefeated

The Syosset Braves improved to 5-0 on the season this past weekend, beating Roslyn 5-2 on Saturday afternoon in a Conference 1-B matchup.

The Braves picked up a huge win at first doubles as senior Nikhil Rajesh and junior Spencer Lowitt teamed up to knock off Michael Liebman and Davis Jaslow 6-4, 6-3.

Syosset hosts Garden City in its next match, while Roslyn will head to Manhasset.

On Friday in Conference I, Port Washington took care of Wheatley with a 6-1 victory. The key win came from Eric Fishbin & Rob Konof, who came back to beat Justin Spar & Alec Barres 6-7, 6-3, 7-5.

The Vikings are now 3-1 on the year ahead of a road contest versus Plainview JFK. Wheatley hosts Great Neck South next.

Massapequa stayed undefeated on the year, edging Bellmore JFK 4-3 in a Conference II-A battle.

This match was incredibly close with a few of the contests going the full three sets. Tom DaCosta beat Jared Mossen 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at second singles to help the Chiefs push past Bellmore JFK.

Massapequa’s next match will be at home versus North Shore. Bellmore JFK will host Mepham next.
